Kenneth Branagh on making Artemis Fowl his own.

Picture caption from OhMyDisney: Director Kenneth Branagh with the cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos on the set of Disney’s ARTEMIS FOWL, an adventure that finds 12-year-old Artemis Fowl in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful hidden face of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance. (this sounds like a deviation from the books to us but time will tell).

OhMyDisney visited the set of Artemis Fowl to talk to Kenneth Branagh about his thoughts and experiences working on the Artemis Fowl movie. Here’s a few highlights from the interview!

On the casting:

Branagh also decided to age down our favorite fairy, Holly. Branagh explained: “[Holly being] closer in age [to Artemis] has just made it feel as though Artemis was less isolated and that we could have some fun with that particular age group.”

Branagh might even be making a cameo in the movie!

Holly’s Story

  1. Aging Holly down is silly- it’ll take away from Fowl’s intellect. He’s supposed to be isolated lol- he’s a child genius for crying out loud!
