OhMyDisney visited the set of Artemis Fowl to talk to Kenneth Branagh about his thoughts and experiences working on the Artemis Fowl movie. Here’s a few highlights from the interview!
On the casting:
Branagh also decided to age down our favorite fairy, Holly. Branagh explained: “[Holly being] closer in age [to Artemis] has just made it feel as though Artemis was less isolated and that we could have some fun with that particular age group.”
Branagh might even be making a cameo in the movie!
A source for discussion in the community is regarding Holly’s story and growth as a character. By having Commander Root be female, Holly is no longer the first female officer in LEPrecon. “We don’t make the life any simpler for her in terms of progress,” Branagh told us. “There are plenty of obstacles … that get in her way and impede that.”
