As we all know – Irish youngster Ferdia Shaw overcame the monumental challenge of beating 1,200 other hopeful actors to be cast as Artemis Fowl II… but who is he?
Ferdia Shaw is represented by The Lisa Richards Agency – they’ve got a great description of Ferdia that helps build a picture.
He was Born in Dublin, but has spent the majority of his life living in Kilkenny with his family. Ferdia describes himself as a vegetarian who aspires to become vegan, and is keenly aware of the environmental issues facing us today. Ferdia is a member of Young Irish Film Makers, where young people are given the opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of film making, and where he has made his own short films.
Ferdia has also appeared in a short film as part of the Kilkenny Famine Experience:
Ferdia is the grandson of Robert Shaw, the legendary actor known for his roles in Jaws, The Sting and From Russia with Love. Sounds like acting is in his blood!

I noticed that Ferdia Shaw was a part of Young Irish Film Makers so I watched most of their old YouTube videos as any sane person would and I think I may have spotted Ferdia in a yifm video called MannequINN. The videos description is: A hiker comes across a remote Inn and decides to spend the night.

I think I found young Ferdia Shaw in a video by young Irish film makers(yifm). The video is called MannequINN and the description says that someone named Ferdia Shaw acted in it and I know that he was a part of yifm so it is most likely the same Ferdia.
