There are SEVEN upcoming ‘Artemis Fowl’ related books!

Yes, you read that right – SEVEN (eight if you include the second Fowl Twins book)! From what we can see of official news coming out of Disney and Eoin Colfer’s Instagram, along with scouring Amazon, there are a total of seven ‘Artemis Fowl’ related books (in the form of a new series, movie tie-ins and companion books) scheduled for release over the coming 12-18 months, and another scheduled for February 2021. Let’s break them down into categories!

The Fowl Twins (New Series!)

1. “The Fowl Twins: Book 1” (Due for release in February 2020) – We explored the first book in the upcoming “The Fowl Twins” series in our article Everything we know about The Fowl Twins (so far) article previously, however to recap, The Fowl Twins is the start of a new series detailing the adventures of Artemis Fowl’s younger brothers, Myles and Beckett. The summary for this new book is: Artermis Fowl’s younger twin brothers, Myles and Beckett, after being left alone for just one night, must save a troll from a nefarious nobleman and an interrogating nun–each of whom need the magical creature for their own gain. 
2. “The Fowl Twins: Book 2” (Due for release in February 2021) – We know absolutely nothing about this book so far other than that it will be a sequel to the first book detailed above. I’m sure we’ll find out more in time!

Graphic Novel 2019 Reboot

3. Artemis Fowl Graphic Novel reboot (Due for release in June 2019) – Book 3 in the list is a new, rebooted graphic novel, adapted by Michael Moreci and illustrated by Stephen Gilpin. It features a different art style to the original 4-part graphic novel series. Check out the cover and a page sample for the new graphic novel!

Movie Tie-in Books

4. Art and Making of Artemis Fowl (Due for release 25th June 2019) – It looks like we’re getting a few movie tie-in books, this one focusing on the art of making the movie, along with a solid behind-the-scenes look at the production. The summary for the book on Amazon.com reads; Dive into the magical world originally created by Eoin Colfer in the beloved book series. From page to screen, travel behind the scenes to discover the myriad layers of movie-making. Casting, set design and construction, costuming, hair and makeup design, and high-tech gadgetry are all explored as the filmmakers bring Fowl Manor and Haven City to life.
5. Artemis Fowl: The Official Movie Special (Due for release 13th August 2019) – The second movie-tie in book appears to be some sort of “movie special,” we assume showing off a further look at the behind-the-scenes of the movie and more. The summary for the book on Amazon.com reads; An in-depth behind-the-scenes companion book to the upcoming hit film about everyone’s favorite teenage criminal mastermind, Artemis Fowl. Featuring cast and crew interviews, photography and artwork behind the scenes of the upcoming blockbuster film based on the fan-adored and critically acclaimed novel series Artemis Fowl. The film is to be directed by Oscar-nominated Director Kenneth Branagh.

6. Artemis Fowl: Artemis Fowl’s Guide to the World of Fairies (Due for release 25th June 2019) – The description on Amazon.com for this book reads; This beautifully illustrated novel is a compendium of Artemis Fowl’s knowledge gleaned from The Book of the People and from his encounters with magical creatures and the LEP. Artemis Fowl: Because I’m Smarter Than You, That’s Why (Due for release 11th February 2020) – The description on Amazon.com for this book reads; Artemis Fowl excels at many things, but diplomacy is not one of them. As Artemis tries (and fails) to work with, around, and against the Lower Elements Police (LEP), he finds that the world of fairies is going to require intelligence, finesse, and — perish the thought — maybe even compromise.
