After a long content drought on the Artemis Fowl movie… it now looks like it’s starting to pour!
A fortnight since the first full trailer dropped, we’ve now got a lengthy featurette to dig our teeth into! Check it out below, and then scroll for our highlight of important screenshots and scenes.
The initial scenes we see are either text-based or scenes/clips we’ve seen before. In case you missed it, check out our previous trailer breakdown to catch up! For this breakdown we’ve skipped the first 35ish seconds, and will only screenshot & heavily dissect clips/screenshots that are new for this featurette.
Our first clip is a familiar one, however in the original 2018 teaser, the voice was different. We believe that the voice in this new featurette is that of Hong Chau (who’s playing the Ho Chi Minh Sprite / Opal Koboi)
“Artemis Fowl… I knew you’d come” she croaks.

We then get the Director, Kenneth Branagh!
“Artemis Fowl is a character who is exciting and different. He’s 12-year-old and a criminal mastermind.”

We see a new shot of Butler (Nonso Anozie) and Artemis (Ferdia Shaw) riding a moped / motorcycle through Ho Chi Minh City.

We get our first proper look at THE BOOK as the Ho Chi Minh Sprite tosses it to Artemis. We see Artemis catch it, and clips of the book being photographed.

We then see the man himself – Eoin Colfer – talking about creating the character Artemis Fowl.

We get a new shot of Artemis II looking into a safe. This is definitely the same safe we see Mulch Diggums breaking into in the trailer.

Artemis looking out on the beaches adjacent to Fowl Manor. Waiting for his father’s return?

Eoin accompanied by his sons as Kenneth Branagh shows them something.

Eoin Colfer seeing his character in the flesh…

Our first look at Juliet Butler coming out of Fowl Manor as the Fowl Bentley pulls up. It looks like either dusk or sunrise… could this be Artemis & Butler returning to Fowl Manor with a kidnapped fairy?

We then see an interesting clip – Butler dragging his charge (we know this is Artemis – wearing the robe we see him in during the previous full trailer) through Fowl Manor.

Artemis on board a flight… most likely heading to or returning from Ho Chi Minh City.

We then see some fantastic clips of Production Designer Jim Clay at work on artwork for Fowl Manor, along with timelapse shots of it being built. The detail that’s gone in is insane!

A sneaky behind-the-scenes shot of the Ho Chi Minh city scenes…

Another look at Judi Dench as Commander Root. If you look carefully in the previous trailer at the panning shot of Haven City, it would appear that she’s in one of the structures we see to the left and right of the doorway, which leads us to believe this is indeed the front of Police Plaza.

A short of Butler on patrol around Fowl Manor? He’s wearing sunglasses yet it again appears to be quite dark out. Is he on the prowl for some wayward Fairies to fight?

Mulch Diggums getting goggled up…

Artemis riding some form of advanced Segway through the grounds surrounding Fowl Manor.

And then looking very serious as he enters a room

Now, here is possibly one of the most interesting shots from the featurette – Juliet, Butler and Artemis sitting around a table in a study/office, as a cloaked figure holds something glowing.
It’s the GOLDEN ACORN from the trailer. This definitely holds some significant importance for the movie.

A phenomenal panning shot of the siege of Fowl Manor. You can see the timestop in affect around the edges, and thousands of fairies preparing the siege.

Wow! So beautiful! I can’t wait, even though I know they changed it so much… I want to see my Arty on the big screen! May 29, I can’t wait! Sorry, Disney, if I thought it wasn’t going to be great before I saw this *new* trailer. Personally, I like the old trailer and poster better. It looked more sleek.
Isn’t this beautiful?
I think that the Coronavirus would not be a problem for Arty.
I CAN’T WAIT!!!
I’m very exited as a major Artemis fan.
When Artemis enters the room looking serious you see a bedroom in the back. Perhaps he just had an encounter with his mom?
Yes, you’re right, but there will be some movie gadget?
