The Top 10 ‘Artemis Fowl’ Characters

So we all love Artemis Fowl. Duh. But we also love Domovoi Butler, Holly Short… people like that. There are many loveable people (and fairies) in the Artemis Fowl series. Some are huggable and some aren’t. (I tried to hug Butler before, it didn’t work out.) But we love them all the same. Anyway… introducing the Top 10 Artemis Fowl Characters!

(Note: I didn’t really include the three main characters: Artemis, Holly, and Butler, not only because there’d be a lot of debate about which of the three are the best, but also because that’s pretty obvious and would be kind of predictable.)

10) Mr. and Mrs. Fowl

So, Mr and Mrs Fowl. I suppose what I really like about them is that they’re really the nurturing parents that the Fowl children need, at least now. The extents that Artemis goes to to protect them is astounding and it gives a more touching aspect to the books.

9) Nopal

Nopal is such a sweet clone. I like how she plays an integral part to the ending of the book in The Last Guardian. Despite having virtually no character (or character development), she still is a character that I personally enjoy in the book.

8) Myles and Beckett Fowl

Myles and Beckett are so kawaii! They really contradict each other, but at the same time, they balance each other out. I like the fact that they’re so complementary and they add (even more) laughter to the books.

7) Number 1

Ironically, Number 1 is not Number 1. But he’s the cutest little demon that has the cutest thoughts. He’s that little something born to give social outcasts a bit of hope about themselves, and his cheekiness and hyperactivity adds a little something to the books.

6) Minerva Paradizo

I SHIP HER AND ARTY! Really how she’s changed is amazing, she’s a genius, she’s funny, Artemis likes her, she poses challenges to Artemis, what else would you want?

5) Orion Fowl

(I’m going to write this paragraph in Orion-speak)

Ah, Orion, my fair prince. You are as bubbly and bright as the sun that lights up my days, as elegant and graceful as the moon that accompanies me through the nights. You also have an aura of light blue. And dolphins.

I give up, but honestly Orion is such an interesting character and really gives us insight into the romantic part of Artemis that he has been hiding.

4) Commander Trouble Kelp

Shoutout to Troublelover16! I like leaders, and to be honest I couldn’t think of a better person to replace Julius Root. His change in character may have been slightly rushed but I like how the progression allows for him to show both his more caring side and his commanding side.

3) Foaly

Foaly: Resident Centaur, Tech Genius, and Paranoia Expert. I like his little tinfoil cap and his constant struggles with Artemis. He’s a real character, and his flaws and strengths are obviously out for all to see. I also love his relationship with Holly, it’s so… Ideal.

2) Mulch Diggums

Mulch is such a weird and crazy character that I don’t know what to say. His sense of sarcasm and realism even in the most treacherous times take some of the tension and heaviness in the atmosphere out of the book, and personally he’s what’s stopping me from getting a heart attack while reading AF.

1) Commander Julius Root

RIP Julius. He was such a great commander, and I suppose I never really thought anyone could be killed off in Artemis Fowl. But the fact that he acted so gruff but actually cared for people at heart. (Also his short temper is amazingly funny.) The AF series has ended, but I think that we all kind of miss Root the most.
