Artemis Fowl News
Book 6
This has been an absolutely huge month for information on the sixth Artemis Fowl book. In late September, AFC conducted an interview which was released to the public at the beginning of October. THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS: If you don't want to know the plot, the title, or other details of Book 6, then look away now. Otherwise, read on!
The title: Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox.
The plot: Artemis' mother is dying, and the only thing that can save her is the brain fluid... it's a rare condition... the brain fluid of an extinct species of animal. He knows it's extinct, because he killed the last one five years ago. So, now he has to go back and get this animal, before he kills it, well, before his younger self kills it.

Click Book
This month saw the release of a book in aid of Amnesty International, that Eoin Colfer had a major part in. He has teamed up with a group of other prolific authors to bring "Click," a story written by the authors. The book has been so big that the opening event had Colin Farrell, star of movies such as Phone Booth and SWAT, lending his support.

Part 2 of 3...
I just knew Opal was planning something, as she wore glasses to the exam. She never risked tainting her looks with something as mundane as eye correctional apparatus. I merely hoped whatever she was planning wouldn’t be terminal, or hurt a lot. As I wanted to get her back, regardless of whatever she would do to me, after all, I did have faith in her.
Previously, I always thought catching fish would be easy. But having to fashion a fishing rod with your bare hands is difficult. And using it to fish is even harder, especially when you didn’t have either bait or hook. At least I managed to get the string from my sweater. I was glad to see Opal was in difficulties too, though she did have a hook, made from her hairpin, and a line, but she didn’t have any bait, as if she as going to risk breaking a nail by digging for worms, vanity did have its downsides. Of course, I wasn’t going to dig for worms, how could a genius of my caliber be reduced to manual labor?
After waiting without success for hours on end, I decided to disregard subtlety. Opal had given up hours ago and was shouting at trees to rain nuts, berries and caviar. I used a rock to “stop” the oxygen circulation system, and took the fish that died from suffocation.
Starting a fire to cook the fish without was considerably harder than trying to catch the fish. Good thing I smuggled some nitroglycerin in. I started a small fire with a controlled explosion from my explosive, and then went to find a rack to serve as a plate to cook my fish on. When I came back, the fire had gone out. So I put a drop of nitroglycerin on the firewood and ignited it with a small stone. However, the result wasn’t what I expected. As it later turned out, Opal had poured a quarter of my nitroglycerin into the fire she doused, then added water to fill my canteen. All I could salvage from the wreck was a charred bit of charcoal filled with stone fragments. Not pretty. Definitely not your usually gourmet dish.
As I looked at the remains of my fish, I realized that I could still pass... given that I ah... ”prepared” other people’s dish.
